This Tuesday we are taking it back with the stylings of this Nissan 240SX. Just a glance at this s-chassis and you’ll be taken back into time when car modifications were a bit different. From the color-matched wheels, to the fitment/stance, to the meaty tires, to the wild front bumper/body kit, built motor, gutted interior, multiple stickers, or even the bold graphics (designed in-house at Tanabe-USA). No matter what angle you took your first glance, you would have a story to tell. Not too long ago, show/track cars were more well-rounded, albeit over the top. I’m sure if this car pulled up into an event, it can still grab your attention and take you out to lunch while you’re at it.

This year’s Nisei festival car show in downtown L.A.’s Little Tokyo district was a collaboration between STANCENATION and SHOWOFF which meant a lot more cars were featured and a lot more awards/prizes were given out! Now we all know that the catalytic converter is the more flow restrictive part of an exhaust system. A lot of you out there want to have a more free flowing exhaust to help the car breathe better but your options are usually something along the lines of removing the factory cat and replacing it with a test pipe (straight pipe) or high flow cat(HFC). The problem with the straight pipe is that in most states and countries, altering any of the factory emissions components are illegal. Also with this, the fumes and from the exhaust can get pretty bad as well as the dreaded black bumper that you get from the exhaust gasses leaving soot on your bumper and in extreme cases.

After 18 years, the Initial D manga has ended. The final chapter was recently released in Japan which closes out a strong run (no pun intended), for one of the most iconic cars in the import industry. Takumi Fujiwara, driver of the tofu delivery AE86 and his story will live on but the manga itself will be no longer.

The stabilizer bar, or anti-swaybar, reduces chassis roll and provides maximum contact between the tires and road. The end result is giving the driver improved feel and response.
The Tanabe Sustec Stabilizer greatly eliminates unwanted chassis roll for exceptional stability. Unique to the Sustec Stabilizer is it’s FULL CHROMEMOLY steel alloy construction. Chromemoly’s strength is such that a small diameter chromemoly anti-swaybar is significantly stronger than the standard steel anti-swaybars that are larger in diameter.
Chromemoly is extremely lightweight and rigid, allowing for less material to be used while still maintaining high strength and light weight. It is commonly used to build roll cages, and has an established reputation in the performance community as a choice material for a reasonable price.
