Formula D 2014 Current Standings

Stage 5: Throwdown podium results – from FormulaD.com

This past weekend in Monroe, WA, was the 5th stage in this year’s Formula D championship season. With the events beginning to get closer to the final rounds, the heat and pressure between all drivers and teams increase to ensure their position in the overall standings. For SSR-sponsored pro-drifter Chris Forsberg, he must continue to be in peak form in order to retain his #1 overall lead for the current season. Chris is the only driver in the 2014 season to have finished on the podium for every round which has him well on his way to winning the 2014 Formula D Championship.

Chris Forsberg still #1 in overall standing... a 57 point lead!

Ehhhh Dee….

So in February of 2012, I pulled the motor out of my FD RX7. The car ran great, but I wanted torque! You can see some pics from that night here. I planned to be done by that summer and here we are… 2 and a half years later. Drivetrain is in, just gotta go the wiring and plumbing and it’s still not running. Things kept coming up. Car shows, family stuff and just plain laziness. Driving my friend’s LS2 swapped FD this past weekend gave me a little motivation to get this thing finished. Anyway, I’ve been feeling nostalgic so here are some pictures of the car before the motor was pulled out.

Love the way the duckbill wing looked on the car.

How to mount center cap on GTV Series wheel.

Mounting the center caps correctly on your GTV series wheel is very simple.

Imagining the wheel as a clock’s face, the valve hole will denote the 6:00 position of the wheel. By drawing an imaginary line from the 3:00 position to the 9:00 position you will have a reference point for the angle of the center cap. The SSR logo on the center cap should be parallel with the imaginary line drawn earlier.

JUN Light Weight Flywheel

LIGHT WEIGHT FLYWHEEL

JUN could achieve manufacturing its original flywheels about 200% more strength compared with normal flywheels. It was forged using Chrome-molybdenum steel. The power of inertia rotation can be decreased by reducing the excess weight, and therefore, its strength directly passed through to the high response.
JUN Ultra Light Weight Flywheel is targeted the customers who regard the higher rotation area for their highly modified engines. This flywheel is also designed to be strong as well as light-weight, and forged using Chrome-molybdenum steel.

Advantage by making a flywheel light

“The engine response improves if a flywheel is made light” that is often said. In case of revolving thing like a flywheel, the power (inertia power) which is always going to continue fixed rotation occurs. An engine tries to increase the number of rotation when you pedal an accelerator, but a flywheel tends to keep an idling state according to its inertia power. When inertia power becomes large, much time is needed for going up rotation. In the case of the JUN lightweight flywheel, since weight (especially flywheel perimeter part) is light, there is little inertia power of influencing rotation of engine. Since time to go up rotation is shortened, the response of engine to a accelerator becomes quick (a response improves).

Weight, Strength, Balance

The JUN light weight flywheel is made from the optimal weight and optimal form which were set up for each type of a car from the chrome forge material. By shaving all circumference of the chrome forge material, the variation in weight and the deviation of balance are pressed down to the minimum. Processing for raising wear durability and heat treatment etc… is performed in the surface. Various know-how for realizing lightness, strength, and high balance is condensed to the JUN light weight flywheel.
