Super GT300: Mugen CR-Z GT wins 1st place at Fuji 3 hour endurance race

Sept. 22, 2013 — Team MUGEN CR-Z GT has successfully won 1st place at the Asian Le Mans Series 3-hour endurance race on Fuji Speedway. Starting from the pole-position and holding on to the lead for the entire race, it was Team MUGEN’s first GT300 series victory, which is an amazing feat to stay in first place for so long. Although rival teams came close, the fast pacing of both CR-Z GT drivers Hideki Mutoh and Yuhki Nakayama ensured that they did not want to give up their lead. Please read the rest of the article on the Super GT official website.

The Team MUGEN CR-Z GT is running on SSR GTF01 centerlock racing wheels.

They “C” me rollin’….

You may have noticed if you’ve flipped through the pages of European Car Magazine or browsed various Euro forums or social media outlets that there is a growing trend of European car guys making the move to rock Japanese wheels on their cars. The quality, the design, the history and the thirst to be different are some of the driving forces that may be the cause of the change in direction for euro car tuners out there.

Here is a look at Kyle Rotondo’s Mercedes Benz C63 AMG. This is one car I’ve always loved… classy on the outside but a beast at heart! The lines of this car give it such an aggressive stance and the sinister black paint and accents go awesome and contrast nicely with a set of SSR Professor Sp3s.

Signal Auto “Twin 180SXs”, ten years ago.

Remember the twin orange 180SXs that Signal Auto built over a decade ago? Who am I kidding, of course you do – the metallic orange paint with the legendary “Splash” graphics, the painted headlight delete inserts, whatever happened to these amazing machines? It sure doesn’t feel that long ago, but time stops for nobody, not even iconic drift cars. I’m sure many of you who are drifting enthusiasts in your mid 20’s can relate when I say that these cars heavily influenced our styling choices as teenagers. Today I would like to share with you some photos taken in 2003 – soon after their completion. Both cars were equipped with Tanabe‘s full line of suspension components, from coilovers to pillow ball adjustable arms and stabilizer bars, most of which have since been discontinued (the stabilizer bars are still available). Moving onto the photos, taken in front of somebody’s house in Osaka, 2003.
